Carey Price's Torture Chamber
A place for interesting sports information (mostly hockey). Also enjoy my intermittent ramblings on all (ok, really some) things sports related.

I just can't let you ignore this.
Here's a great Dwayne Roloson pic-mash up done by the fine folks over at The Score's Houses of the Hockey.

Mailing it in today.
Here's a link to a cool NY Times article on the evolution of baseball strategy from 1911. All of this stuff a baseball fan should know about (although some of it has been debunked by more advanced sabermetric number crunching (batters having the "ability" to decide where the ball goes upon striking it with their bat? C'mon...)), unless you're the kind of person who has trouble wrapping their minds around such Herculean ideas as 'circle block goes in circle hole'. So there's that...

Obama making like David Krejci and breaking the door down
OK. Some pretty important news came out late last night. Obama acquired intel on the whereabouts of one Enemy # 1 Osama bin Laden and had him brought to justice at some point during the day yesterday. His speech on the matter was direct from the 'Don't F*ck With Me!' file:
Just as Obama made America a little happier today with his announcement late last night, so did David Krejci. Well...a smaller segment of America, anyway, as the Bruins first line ran rampant over the Flyers on Saturday afternoon and lead the Bruins charge of 7 goals. Krejci contributed 2 of them along with 2 assists as well as a +3 rating. Just as Obama broke down the door, Krejci did as well, by exacting a small amount of revenge on the same Flyers team that ended his season prematurely in last year's 2nd round choke job. Message: America. Hell Yeah. and also don't count out the Bruins.

Happy May Day Everybody
In honour of a pseudo-holiday that nobody even recognizes anymore here for your enjoyment is Dale Hawerchuk's Game 3 winner and Brad May's series clinching OT goal in Game 4 vs. the Bruins in the 1993 Adams Division Semi's. Rick Jeanneret on the call as always.

Welcome to Me
I'm not gonna stand (sit?) here and pat myself on the back, but go me for getting up the ambition to do my first 2 post with actual words day. YAY. OK, now that that's over with on to the regularly scheduled programming...
I should probably disclose that I am an unabashed fan of Toronto sports even though I currently live in New Hampshire (within the evil beating heart of Red Sox and Patriots country...). The only local sports team that I tolerate is the Bruins, although I am just as big/if not more a fan of the Maple Leafs. As noted in the site description I am going to be hopefully overjoying you (joying? passably irritating is most likely it) with some tidbits of info and intriguing story lines from throughout the realm of sports (and yes I like to fancy myself as a knight on horseback bringing forth the great news of sports to my kingdom of followers...and, no you have a mental problem.)
So in that vein of bringing the news of the sports and teams that I follow there really isn't going to be anything that's off limits around here. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to get some other features going on this site (podcasts, fan polls, etc.) to more fully immerse my kingdom in my mostly incoherent ramblings.
Until then keep it real, and don't step on the cat.
Regards,
LP
