God, Andrew Ference is becoming quite the hot topic around these Stanley Cup playoffs isn't he? Thankfully Bruin's D-man Andrew Ference will not be suspended by the NHL for his somewhat derided hit to the melon of the Hab's Jeff Halpern in last night's ECQF Gm 7. People can rant and rave about how Ference's intent was to hit the head of Halpern as he skated by, but the truth of the matter is Ference did not move in any manner to get in the way of Halpern. He stood still. And last time I checked a player has a right to literally stand in a spot on the ice and not be forced out of said spot in the event that an opposing player skates into him. You say,"At least it could have been a borderline interference call!" seeing as Halpern was not in possession of the puck. I think it was a good no-call regardless of the fact that the ref's may have missed it. Don't agree with me? Have a look for yourself...
